July 17, 2009Okay so I know my june faves came kind of late but that’s okay it just means July faves comes faster.
- My first fave is iphone OS 3.0 – OMG copy and paste!!! I don’t think I need to say anything more on this.
- 2 degrees commercial with Rhys Darby – it blows any other network advertising out of the water.
- This isn’t really a gadget but KONG toys for dogs rock!! I was worried about my pooch getting bored during the day when I go to work…I fill it with heaps of cool stuff (well cool dog stuff anyway) kibble, peanut butter, little meaty treats and my dog has to figure out how to get it all out…totally recommend. I think I paid $20 for the toy itself and another $20 for the specially shaped cookie things that you stuff inside it.

Yes it’s pink, gold and wireless and is SSSSOOOOO HOT!!
It’s currently $55 US and I’m going to try my hardest to get my hands on one of these for work – because quite frankly it makes a statement and I’m not about to leave that baby locked up at home.
Haven’t got one yet but I’ll post stockists if i can find close ones … otherwise I’m ordering online…they actually have an entire collection of Juicy computer goods!

Just a Wii Girl

Being somewhat of a gadget girl you would think that I was already Wii’d up…but to be honest I’m not THAT much of a gamer.
Recently a couple of things have happened and just the fact that it’s winter has made me want to get a wii, I have PS3 (obviously mostly for the benefit of the man in my life being not a gamer and all) and I do play a bunch of Sims 3 .
I’m thinking I’ll get the wii sports and wii fit bundle and get a couple of extra controllers.
So this is the next gadget I’m going to get – warn me off now if you think it’ s a bad idea!
Sony Walkman Turns 30
July 5, 2009Sony Walkman turned 30 this week…I’m in the generation that didn’t have the cassette tape walkman but instead had the CD kind when I was younger and then it was bring on the MP3 player.
It’s actually quite pretty.
June Faves
July 4, 2009Over winter when the rain is pounding at your window or snow is blanketing the ground gadget girls tend to stay inside or find refuge in cafes and restaurants out of the nippy winter air. It’s been REALLY cold lately so I thought I’d go though my faves for June, these will be a mixture of gadgets, software, apps and other little things -
- The Sims 3 – I’m going to do an entire review on The Sims 3 once I’ve played it a bit more but for geek girls and gadget girls alike it’s perfect for rainy days and cold nights. The danger is if you have work or uni or school the next day because I tend to not check the time while I’m playing, get caught up in what my Sims are doing and it winds around to 2 AM and I’m still sitting there playing. I think the RRP for sims3 is $99 but I got mine for $86 so it pays to shop around – check the system requirements though…I had to upgrade my RAM.
- Monopoly App for iphone – I LOVE THIS!! I think it was $13.99 when I got it but I think the price has gone down to like $6.50 since then. It’s perfect for if you’re waiting for someone for longer than 5 minutes or just killing time – I’m not really one for going to a cafe and waiting by myself for someone whilst looking like I have nothing to do so I generally pull out my phone and text or play a game – if you’re not a monopoly fan though it’s probably not the game for you.
- I don’t have any other gadgety faves for the month but I do have a couple of girly finds that you might be interested in (guys stop reading now)…
Broadway Real Life Nails – These are fantastic! You can wear them for 10 days and they look really pretty, if one comes off you can just glue it back on. They were $19.99 from life pharmacy and I got a smaller pack for free….PLUS they come in a length called ‘REAL SHORT’ Which is iphone friendly!!! Or at least it’s iphone friendly for me. - MAC Fluidline eyeliner – I mentioned this on twitter – I’ve used a pencil for years and have used vaious different brands from Clinique to Loreal….I always got an okay finish but nothing great…nothing that I got comments about but this stuff is AMAZING…I’ve had so many comments about this it really is fantastical. I had to buy a brush at the same time so it cost me like $85 but if you have a brush already or are prepared to use an e
yeliner brush that isn’t MAC its much more affordable.The makeup actually fits into my geekageness as well – I’m addicted to these make-up guru videos on YouTube – my faves are allthatglitters21 and makeupgeek – go check them out if you get a chance.

Breast Cancer Gadgets
March 25, 2009I’m all for anything pink. And anything that supports a good cause such as Breast Cancer. I’m just a bit concerned that too many gadgets are appearing with in the colour pink some with breast cancer support, some without.
We all know that to a humble store owner – anything pink sells like hotcakes…girls like me I imagine (or girls that want to be like me), but if we continue to flood the market with anything in a bright or pale shade of Pink eventually us girls will get bored and we’ll go back to buying things that look like expensive jewelery, why you ask, it’s just not special anymore.
I’m sure with the pink gadget fad support for breast cancer has had a fair flurry of support…we’ve had Mobile Phones, cordless phones, GHD’s (and other unmentionable hair straigtner products), headphones, iPod and iPhone covers, tasters, MP3 players, Laptops, Laptop covers…the list goes on and on, hell I even have pink breast cancer support Golf clubs.
Think back to the 1990’s (shudder) any gadgets or appliances were black, white or silver – BORING. The pink was a refreshing burst of loveliness but I think it’s had it’s day…let’s reduce the number of pink for the sake of being pink gadgets so that pink becomes something of a special item again, like when Motorola released the RAZR in Pink and we danced in the street with excitement.
